They say flying is the safest form of travel. That may be true but if you are interested in more than just safety, cruises are the best. There is so much to do on the ship; it is like being on a mobile city. Let me share with you one of my many cruise trip stories. You may just learn a thing or two.
What makes this trip different from my others is that I tried something for the first time. It was so easy to do I could not believe it. Security was not exactly lax but they could have done better to prevent me from achieving what I did. It was the first time I was able to sneak alcohol on the cruise.
All I can say about the specs of the trip is that, we went to the Bahamas. There are many cruise lines on that route; you have probably been on the same one as me. I was not sure my plan would work. I was also not sure what was going to happen when my plan failed. So I chose a short trip just to try out my diabolical plan.
Of course that was not the only reason why I went on the Bahamas. There are so many things to do out there, especially with family and friends. Anyway, I wanted to visit the Fish Fry in Nassau. The food there is great. I also wanted to spend time in the casino, away from Las Vegas Nevada.
There are many reasons why people aren’t allowed to bring alcohol on cruises; policies differ from one cruise to the other. Don’t get me wrong, but if I’m going to pay more for beer, I should get more beer. I don’t know if this statement is accurate but alcohol seems to be more expensive on cruises than on land. So basically, they earn something on alcohol sales because they know we are going to buy it.
On the other hand, it is all about security reasons. They don’t want people losing control and falling over board or some stuff like that. So they try to keep the alcohol doses minimal by regulating sales and what not. That is fine, but it also seems like they take away our freedom to choose what we want and how much of it we want. Every alcohol container is written “drink responsibly”, isn’t it?
Do not get too carried away though, when the ship docked, I was knocked out of my boots by the wine. It is quite simple really; first things first, visit the local liquor store and pick your poison. Secondly, get a couple of flasks where you will pour the alcohol in. They are the only things that will pass through the x-ray scan. Fill the flasks up to the max with alcohol and you are ready to roll. That certainly worked for me.
Make the most of your cruises and unleash the party animal in you. Just remember to drink responsibly and make sure you stay away from the rails when you drink.
